Imperial Prince Hachijo-no-miya Naohito (八条宮尚仁親王)
Imperial Prince Hachijo-no-miya Naohito (December 10, 1671 – September 19, 1689) was a member of the Imperial family who lived in the early Edo period. He was the fifth family head of Hachijo-no-miya (also known as Katsura-no-miya) family. He was the eighth son of the Emperor Gosai. His mother was Rokujo-no-tsubobe FUJIWARA no Teishi, a daughter of Chishu, a Buddhist priest. He was called Kanenomiya when young.
In 1675, he became the heir of the Hachijo-no-miya Family according to the will of Imperial Prince Nagahito. In December 1684, he was given the title of Imperial Prince and was named Naohito. In March 1686, he celebrated his coming of age and was designated as a Danjodai (Board of Censors). He passed away on September 19, 1689. He died at the age of 19. His homyo (a posthumous Buddhist name) was Muryoko-in.
